Exclusive: Mississauga local celebrities, Renu Arora & Helen Sladden, on Oprah Winfrey Show
A couple of our most famous Mississauga natives, co-founders of the Trigger Release Method and authors of the book Trigger Release: Returning to Wholeness, Renu Arora & Helen Sladden, will be appearing with Oprah Winfrey on her award-winning show SuperSoul Sunday, this Sunday at 7pm EST.
I had the opportunity to watch them live during the filming of the episode, and I must say, this is one you won’t want to miss!
Sitting in plush leather chairs with images of monarch butterflies flying in the screens behind them, Winfrey sat with Arora and Sladden to learn more about the growing success of the Trigger Release Method (TRM).
Winfrey: “I’ve been hearing a lot about the Trigger Release Method and how this new methodology in Canada has broken out of the traditional realm of “alternative medicine” and is becoming popular even amongst mainstream health practitioners. Tell me about it. First of all, what is it?”
Arora: “Put simply, you first need to accept the premise that any problem you have in your life – say a food allergy, or an intolerance to something in the environment, or a fear or phobia, or a repeating pattern in your life – is there for a reason. The reason is that your subconscious is trying to talk to you…to get your attention about something that has happened in your life that needs to be resolved. ”
Sladden: “You see, an event takes place that elicits an emotion. An emotion is energy. All emotions have their place, but when we don’t deal with the emotion it can become “stuck,” getting in the way of proper energy flow throughout the body. The subconscious therefore creates those problems as signals to us that there is some underlying situation that needs to be resolved so that energy flow is returned to its natural state. Your subconscious is talking to you through your problems…it’s trying to point you to the life event that needs to be addressed. The foundation of TRM is to listen to what the subconscious has to say.”
Winfrey: “And how do you know what the subconscious is trying to say?”
Sladden: “Renu, do you want to show her muscle testing?” she said with a wide smile and a twinkle in her eye.
At this point, Ms. Arora did a demonstration of muscle testing for Ms. Winfrey. She had Winfrey form a circle with her fingers and showed her how her fingers would get stronger or weaker depending on where she placed her other hand on her body. After that, she did something that simply amazed the audience; she called up ten volunteers and muscle tested all of them, after which she had them all hold hands, with Winfrey on one end. She muscle tested Winfrey’s free hand and we were all amazed when she asked the volunteer on the other end to place her hand on different parts of her own body, and it affected the strength of Winfrey’s hand! The expression on Winfrey’s face was priceless! You could see her jaw literally drop as she processed the idea that she could be used as an “extension cord” for someone else. Arora and Sladden could barely contain their laughter at Winfrey’s reaction.
Regaining her composure, Winfrey asked: “So how does this fit into your work?”
Arora: “Good question! What we did now was called ‘checking polarity.’ We had to make sure your energy was flowing in the right direction…certain conditions can make it go ‘backwards’…we needed to ensure that our tests will be accurate. If your polarity were backwards, then I’d receive a ‘yes’ answer where I should get a ‘no’ and vice versa. Other than that, it makes a great party trick!”
Sladden: “From this point, muscle testing is used to access your subconscious. You see, the body becomes stronger with truth and weaker with lies. If we ask a yes-or-no question and the answer is ‘yes’ or ‘true’ then your muscles will respond by getting stronger. A ‘no’ or ‘false’ response weakens your body.”
Arora then demonstrated this on Winfrey by asking questions like “Is your name Oprah?” Followed by “Is your name Renu?” Eliciting another look of amazement from Winfrey.
“I was trying really hard to resist, but my fingers just popped open when the answer was no!”
Arora, with another big smile on her face, “Yup. And that’s how we get answers from your subconscious. Your subconscious is dying to talk to us! It is seeking balance and flow; all we need to do is identify where the stuck energy is and the subconscious is happy to let it go.”
Arora and Sladden proceeded to do a live TRM session with Winfrey, the contents of which you really need to see in order to believe. Without having any prior knowledge of Oprah Winfrey’s past, they were able to pinpoint with astounding accuracy events from her childhood, providing very specific circumstances and age ranges, that Winfrey was able to recall with just a few moments thought. Judging by Winfrey’s reactions, they touched on beliefs and issues that clearly resonated deeply with her. It was amazing to watch.
Towards the end of the interview, Winfrey asked: “How do you explain the phenomenal rise in success of TRM so far?” to which Arora quickly answered “Two things. The first is muscle testing. I have a background in science; I was trained in biochemistry and was a dietitian for 10 years before I got into this work. All of this was hippy-dippy mumbo jumbo in my mind. Then I was introduced to muscle testing and I was literally forced to believe in body energy – I couldn’t come up with a more plausible explanation for why it works, consistently every time, the way it does. There are a lot of people who believe that there’s more to the universe than we can see, but they are silent because they can’t prove it; and there are so many skeptics out there that to say what they believe would just open them up to ridicule. In my mind, muscle testing is something tangible that the skeptics can’t easily explain away. Sure, we quickly move on to other ways to access the subconscious as we’ve showed you today, but it always starts with muscle testing.”
“The second is that, unlike most types of energy work, you don’t have to believe in it before you see results. You can be as skeptical as you like, but as long as you want it to work, you will get some benefit.”
Winfrey: “Those are great points. Will you show me how to muscle test before you leave today?”
Arora and Sladden, in unison “Absolutely!”
SuperSoul Sunday airs at 7pm on Sunday, EST on OWN.
